Community Works

Strata Group is a major contributor to the PanPAc Kiwi Creche at Lake Opouahi. The project involved the construction of a 3.3km predator proof fence, access gates and weir structure enclosig approximately 35 ha of land around Lake Opouahi. The crèche provides a safe environment for young kiwi chicks to grow to a size where they can fend for themselves in the Kaweka Ranges.

Strata Group was involved in the design and construction of the fence and associated facilities and worked closely with the clients Environment Conservation and Edcuation Charitable Trust and the Department of Conservation to achieve what is one of New Zealand’s most successful predator proof enclosures.
