Manager – Industrial Structures
Marcus has been a Chartered Professional Structural Engineer since 2021 and Chartered Member of Engineering New Zealand since 2016. Starting as a Senior Structural Engineer with Strata Group in 2021, Marcus currently leads the Industrial Projects Team which delivers multi-million-dollar engineering projects across New Zealand.
He has over fourteen years of proven national and international experience in structural engineering, including two years in Australia and seven years in London. This includes leading the design and delivery reinforced concrete, steel and timber structures for complex and high profile residential, commercial, healthcare and industrial projects. He is also a recognized Chartered Engineer of the Institute of Civil Engineers in the United Kingdom.
His career has featured an involvement with Strata from the beginning. As a graduate structural engineer, he worked with Strata on a self-initiated secondment focusing largely on industrial and residential design. Marcus then went on to further his experience abroad, most recently as an associate engineer leading a team of engineers and BIM technicians to successfully deliver a variety of different projects from small to large scale (over £150M/ $300M NZD). In delivering a high-quality service on these projects he developed good relationships with high level stake holders in both the public and private sectors, and was also integral in the development and incorporation of new and emerging systems and technologies.
Marcus has brought his international experience back to Strata Group and has led the Industrial Team since 2021. He has developed a strong working relationship with his team and the wider company with emphasise good communication and team culture.
Marcus was born and raised in Hawkes Bay. Having a great affinity for the East Coast area, He has returned to the region to grow and raise his young family.
