To firstly assess then provide an extensive upgrade to strengthen the existing building.
The two buildings that made up the original club were constructed 17 years apart. The client required large open spaces so it was decided that whilst the newer building could be strengthened, it was more economical to demolish the older section.
Due to the different buildings and specific client requirements, numerous strengthening techniques needed to be investigated to decide which best met the projects’ needs.
The result was a visually diverse building that now uses the site to its full capacity, maximising investment potential.
