PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

20 years of experience in the design and construction industry across local government, iwi groups and private sectors has provided Dan with a comprehensive range of civil engineering skills and a wide network of industry contacts. Dan has in-depth experience in roading, 3 Waters infrastructure, land development and building services. His background in surveying has provided him with an excellent understanding of civil engineering from the ground up. 

KEY PROJECTS & ACHIEVEMENTS

• Senior Civil Engineer, Wairatahi Land Development, Heretaunga Tamatea Pou Tahua Limited Partnership, 2022 – Present: Dan is responsible for leading the civil engineering design and delivery of a 450-lot green fields residential subdivision. This significant project, facilitated by local iwi, aims to deliver generational benefits to the greater Hastings community and alleviate the current housing shortage across Hawkes Bay. Dan also assisted Hastings District Council with a successful government funding application for offsite infrastructure works to enable the development to proceed

• Senior Civil Engineer, Lyndhurst Residential Extension, Greenstone Land Developments, 2018 – 2020: Completion of this significant land development in Hastings has seen 270 new lots developed over multiple stages. Dan was responsible for all aspects of civil engineering and earthworks including 2.5km of roading assets which were vested back to HDC.  A wider, structure plan network of 3 Waters trunk mains were also integrated into the design at Council’s request

• Senior Civil Engineer, Waingākau Land Development, Waingakau Housing Development, 2018 – Present: In partnership with local iwi, Waingākau is a visionary mixed-tenure housing development on 9.3ha of general title land that includes 83+ new conventional houses and large greenspace for generational community housing in West Flaxmere, Hastings. Dan has led the civil design team from conception and master planning through to construction and title issue for Stages 1-5
