PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

Starting as a Senior Structural Engineer with Strata Group in 2021, Marcus currently leads the Industrial Projects Team which delivers multi-million-dollar engineering projects across New Zealand.  He has over 14 years of proven national and international experience in structural engineering, including two years in Australia and seven years in London. This includes leading the design and delivery reinforced concrete, steel and timber structures for complex and high profile residential, commercial, healthcare and industrial projects.

KEY PROJECTS & ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Team Leader, Large Clear Span Drystore and Office Development, ERL Investments  ltd, 2021 – 2023: The project comprises a large clear span drystore and office development at 61 Kirkwood Road, in Hasting. The 6,000sqm facility is used as a general goods storage facility for Opal Fibre Packaging. Strata Group was engaged as the lead consultant for this project, and Marcus managed the project team to deliver the project through to completion

  • Senior Engineer, Kelston Orchards Coolstore Development, Hastings, 2019 – 2022: A 2,000sqm coolstore and office facility for storage of apples, in Twyford, Hastings. The main building included a loading bay and loading dock designed to efficient store and transfer produce.  Marcus was the Lead Structural Engineer responsible for the structural design

  • Associate Structure Engineer and Project Leader, University College London Hospital Trust RNTNE Hospital, London UK, 2014 – 2021: This high-profile building provides state-of-the-art outpatient medical facilities on a site in central London for University College London Hospital NHS Trust. Marcus led the structural team to deliver the design through the full project lifecycle, from concept through to project completion
