PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

Duncan, a Chartered Professional Structural Engineer since 2006, leads design teams for multi-million-dollar engineering projects across New Zealand, leveraging over 20 years of experience in operations, project, and people management. As a Director of Strata Group Consulting Engineers since 2013, he has guided the firm from five to over 30 employees, focusing on continuous client delivery improvement. Duncan excels in managing major infrastructure and commercial projects, recently working on high-profile developments, including the $100 million Rockit Global packing facility in the Irongate Industrial Zone in Hastings.

KEY PROJECTS & ACHIEVEMENTS

• Project Director, Marine Village Expansion, Orams Marine Services, 2019 – Present:  Structural and civil engineering design and delivery for a $100 million superyacht refurbishment facility and two multi-storey, mixed-use buildings, including retail, office, workshop development and car parking in Auckland.

• Project Director, GEK Sunfruit Coolstore & Packhouse Development, Hastings Coolstore Limited Partnership, 2019 – Present: The project comprises several controlled atmosphere stores, a packhouse, and office development at 28 Poporo Way at the Irongate Industrial Zone, Hastings.

• Project Director, Ziwi Pet Food Manufacturing Facility, Hapai Ahuriri Limited Partnership, 2019 – Present: Duncan led the civil and structural design teams and acted as the Principal’s Representative for this $70 million, 12,000m2 facility at 155 Awatoto Road, Napier, which is kitted-out with the latest processing technology.
