THE BRIEF
Strata Group was tasked with providing comprehensive civil engineering design services for the East Street, Haumoana residential development project. This encompassed engineering design and procurement for earthworks, drainage, water reticulation, and roading. With the successful completion and full occupancy of stage one, it was time to proceed with stage two of the project.

THE SOLUTION
Strata Group implemented innovative solutions to address the challenges posed by the coastal environment. These solutions included:

• Standalone Wastewater Solution: Designing and implementing a standalone wastewater treatment system to meet the project’s needs efficiently.

• Higher Groundwater Table: Successfully managing the high groundwater table to ensure stable construction conditions and infrastructure integrity.

• Mitigation of Coastal Inundation: Implementing measures to mitigate coastal inundation risks, safeguarding the development from potential flooding events.

THE OUTCOME
With Stages 1-5 successfully completed and Stage 6 under construction, Stage 7 remains in the pipeline. The goal of delivering 100 homes under the rent-to-own model is progressing, with current occupancy at 30%. Completion occurred on schedule and within budget, showcasing Strata’s effective civil engineering solutions.
