DURATION: 2018 - PRESENT
BUDGET: APPROX. $3 MILLION

THE BRIEF
Greenstone Land Developments entrusted Strata Group with the civil engineering aspects of their coastal project, Te Awanga Terraces. Our task was to transform farmland into a thriving residential development with essential civil works such as water supply, road construction, and earthworks.

THE SOLUTION
Strata Group addressed the challenges of the coastal environment and flooding risks through key measures:

  • Elevation of the Site: Elevated the site by 2.5 metres to mitigate flooding risks.

  • Stormwater Management: Implemented a comprehensive system, including a stormwater pond, upstream storage, and on-site wastewater treatment.

  • New Culverts: Created new culverts and upstream storage for effective drainage.

  • Neighbour Sensitivities: Addressed concerns of neighbouring properties through careful planning.

THE OUTCOME
Te Awanga Terraces now boasts 80 residential lots. The successful elevation and advanced stormwater management ensured the protection of existing dwellings and the sustainability of the new community. Strata Group’s involvement transformed Te Awanga Terraces into a resilient and sustainable residential community, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in civil engineering.
