THE BRIEF
Strata Group have been involved in this significant housing development project from inception.  Aligning with local iwi and council an application was sought for resource consent for 450homes through the Covid 19 fast track consent process.  Strata were responsible for all aspects of the civil master planning and off-site infrastructure upgrade assessments necessary to facilitate the development.

THE SOLUTION
The opportunity to apply for consent through the Covid 19 fast track consenting process commenced in 2020.  Wastewater restraints for the proposal led to an Infrastructure Acceleration Fund application (government/council funding partnership) to assist in servicing the site.  This application was successful, resulting in a dedicated pumpstation and 2.5km rising main to service the site. Sensitive freshwater catchments in the area have also resulted in a significant stormwater management area (SMA) being integrated into the design .  The SMA will ensure a neutral impact on quantity and an improvement on quality of site stormwater discharge to the Irongate Stream.

THE OUTCOME
A consent for a fully staged 450 Lot development has now been granted. Construction works are scheduled to commence on stage one of the project in 2025.
